Leachate ponds
Leachate is water, usually from precipitation, which passes through a landfill. Below the dump is often formed a pond with water. Leachate are often contaminateds. Pollution consists of three categories; plant nutrients, inorganic substances such as salts and metals, and organic environmentally damaging substances. The biggest impact today have elements that increase the growth in water areas and causes oxygen deficiency.
More and more waste facilities are treating their leachate locally, at the municipal sewage treatment plants to set higher quality requirements on the sludge, for it to be certified and returned to agriculture.
An aerated pond treatment is usually a preparatory step. Temperature, aeration and oxygenation capacity/residence time is crucial for a good result. Sometimes problems arise in the aerated pond, i.e. clogging of aerators and algal blooms during the warm months. When the algae die causing an oxygen deficient dam, bad smell may occur.
Our very effective aeration makes the problem of inadequate aeration and clogging never occurring. This results in energy costs that are much lower than any other aeration technique.
